Belize Press Office has confirmed a fifth case of COVID-19 in Belize. The infected person is a student who returned from Florida, yet another imported case. According to the Belize Press Office, the infected student entered Belize on Friday, April 3rd, and is in self-isolation at a quarantine facility.
It is unfortunate that the infected student is not the infected contact of previous case, the 4th infected person. The Ministry of Health has identified 101 close contacts of the 4th case, both from San Ignacio and Belize City. All have turned out negative, which indicates that the infected contact is still out there.
The Love Foundation would like to advise the public to please remain at home, unless necessary to leave home. Let us work together to avoid spreading the virus. Always remember to wash your hands often and avoid touching your face.
